Arya killing the ink was sick. Bran was the bait. Like the Raven, he was keeping the Night King on target getting him to the Game Of Thrones Not Today Arya Stark Shirt and keeping him and the dragon from joining the battle. My theory is that the reason he is so robotic and emotionless is that he knows what will happen. So it actually makes sense for him to just fly away and watch with the Ravens. He just wants to see the real-life action of what he has seen in his premonitions.
